An exhibition of art related to the 2018-2019 Campus Read, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel will be housed in Stewart Hall on the downtown campus for the remainder of the academic year.

Titled “Connection After Collapse: A Visual Response to Station Eleven” and curated by Robert Bridges, the exhibit draws upon ideas of survival, civilization, comics and humanities to prompt conversation for students across campus about the novel’s themes and the importance multidisciplinary learning from art in all forms.

The exhibit will be housed on the second-floor atrium, and is comprised of works from the collection of the WVU Art Museum, including two works by Joseph Lupo, Coordinator of Printmaking in WVU’s School of Art and Design.

The gallery will be open to the public Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Students who have read the Campus Read for their First-Year Seminar class or other programs can find a worksheet of questions at the exhibit that they can complete for class credit in some circumstances. Instructors interested in bringing classes through the gallery, or any group of ten or more wishing to visit, must make an appointment by calling 304.293.9919.

Sponsored by the Humanities Center, the annual Campus Read program is designed to engage the campus and community in a yearlong discussion. For a full list of events related to the campus read, visit our website.
