WVU program promotes active fathers in schools

A program that encourages playtime increases quality relationships between fathers and their children at local Monongalia Elementary schools. The joint effort combines the West Virginia University College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and the WVU Extension Service.

First generation college student's fascination with physiology sparks career in physical therapy

It was curiosity and the desire to help others that sparked Kelsie Gillespie’s fascination about the different physiological mechanisms that help people recover. A first generation college student and graduate of James Monroe High School in Lindside, West Virginia, Kelsie chose to earn her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology with an emphasis in aquatic therapy at West Virginia University.

PRT suspends service during summer for modernization

Beginning May 6, the PRT will be closed for passenger service to continue with automatic train control modernization and perform other maintenance activities. It is anticipated that normal operations will resume Monday, Aug. 7.

Benedum Foundation’s latest grants continue support to WVU

The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation recently awarded three grants to West Virginia University through the WVU Foundation totaling $304,300. These grants will benefit various programs, initiatives, and individuals at WVU.

Athletics to add second video board at stadium

West Virginia University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will install a Daktronics 13 HD video board this summer in the north end zone at Milan Puskar Stadium, completing the project in time for the 2017 football season.
