WHAT: West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson will visit the next three counties — Tucker, Pendleton and Grant — on his inaugural “Welcome Home Tour,” which is taking him to historical sites, business locations and local communities across the Mountain State.
WHO: President Benson, University alumni and supporters, and local and community leaders
WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 9
Media members and the public are invited to join the tour at the following stops:
• Visit to Tucker County Courthouse
215 First St., Parsons
9:30 a.m.
• Tour of Pendleton County Courthouse, historic district and more with Pendleton County Convention and Visitors Bureau
100 South Main St., Franklin
3:45 p.m.
• WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital Outpatient Therapy Center ribbon-cutting ceremony, Grant County Chamber of Commerce event
35 South Main St., Petersburg
5:30 p.m.

NOTES: Once he makes these stops, President Benson — who officially began serving as the University’s 27th president on July 15 — will have visited 22 West Virginia counties. His goal is to get to all 55 counties by next summer.
