Mountaineer mascot to receive flu shot

WHAT: The West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot, Mikel Hager, will get his flu shot to raise awareness about flu prevention.

WHO: Kaylee Dean, a School of Pharmacy second-year student pharmacist and chair of the WVU Chapter of the American Pharmacists Association — Academy of Student Pharmacists Operation Influenza, is scheduled to administer the vaccine to the Mountaineer mascot along with other members of the University community.

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 3:15 p.m. 

WHERE: Cook-Hayman Pharmacy Museum, located next to the School of Pharmacy Dean’s Office, First Floor, WVU Health Sciences Center — North, Morgantown

NOTES: After the photo and video opportunity with the Mountaineer mascot, Dr. Gretchen Garofoli, School of Pharmacy clinical associate professor, will be available to speak about the flu and flu vaccines.
