WVU to host seminar on the effects of climate change on food supplies

WHO: Dr. Michael Hoffmann, Executive Director of the Cornell Institute for Climate Smart Solutions

WHAT: The WVU Institute of Water Security and Science, in collaboration with the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design and the WVU Media Innovation Center, will host a seminar led by Michael Hoffmann. The seminar, titled “Climate Change and Our Changing Menu,” is free and open to the public. 

WHERE: WVU Media Innovation Center, Evansdale Crossing

WHEN: Tuesday, April 24, 3 p.m. 

Dr. Michael Hoffmann, a visionary leader and researcher, will lead a discussion that includes: 

  • • The basics of climate change. 
  • • How changing climate affects our globally interconnected and interdependent food supply, including staple commodities such as coffee, wine and chocolate. 
  • • Innovative research that leads to new practices, tools and novel solutions.
