High school and college students to volunteer during national TRIO day of service

WHO: WVU students in the Student Support Services and McNair Scholars program and Upward Bound students from Grafton and Preston County high schools.

WHAT: The volunteers will work together on a community project at The Shack Neighborhood House as part of the National TRIO day of service. They will be painting, cleaning, organizing, working on beautification projects and assisting with fundraising preparations.

WHEN: Saturday (Feb. 24) 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: The Shack Neighborhood House, 537 Blue Horizon Drive, Pursglove

The last Saturday in February has been designated by Congress as National TRIO Day to encourage students to give back to their communities through service.

The volunteers at this event are 231 undergraduate students and staff from the TRIO programs (Upward Bound, Student Support Services and McNair Scholars), along with 60 high school students in the Upward Bound program.
