What: More than 4,500 West Virginia University students are expected to graduate May 12-14 at various Commencement ceremonies throughout Morgantown.

WVU President Gordon Gee will attend commencement ceremonies at the Reed College of Media, the College of Creative Arts, the College of Education and Human Services, the College of Business and Economics and the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences.

Where: WVU Coliseum, Creative Arts Center, Okey Patteson Auditorium at Health Sciences Center, and Mountainlair. For specific venue information, visit http://graduation.wvu.edu/may-commencement.

Additional events: Mountaineer Sendoff, a celebration for the Class of 2017, will be held at the Erickson Alumni Center Tuesday, May 9 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

The U. S. Army Commissioning will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11 in the Mountainlair. The U.S. Air Force Commissioning will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 12 in Brooks Hall, 202. 

The Order of the Augusta/Outstanding Seniors recognition is planned at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11 Erickson Alumni Center, Grand Hall. 

The Honors College Medallion Ceremony will be held at the Creative Arts Center. Thursday, May 11 at 6 p.m.

Parking: Free parking is available at the WVU Coliseum and at additional parking lots on the Evansdale Campus for ceremonies at the Coliseum and Creative Arts Center. Parking is limited but overflow lots are available beyond the Creative Arts Center. Shuttles will be available.

WVU’s PRT system will not be in operation during commencement weekend.

Media: Media coverage is encouraged throughout Commencement Weekend. Videographers and photographers should identify themselves and show the proper media credentials when they arrive at each venue. A section of media seating will be available at the Coliseum near the Blue Gate. If you have questions prior to Commencement weekend, contact University Relations/Communications at 304.293.6997.
