Top WVU seniors named, 8 honored with 2026 Order of Augusta

Six members of the West Virginia University Class of 2026 and two December 2025 graduates have earned the Order of Augusta, the University’s most prestigious honor for academic excellence, leadership and service. The eight inductees were selected from the 52 WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors.

WVU student earns Critical Language Scholarship to study Mandarin in Taiwan

A West Virginia University student with aspirations for a career in foreign service is a recipient of the U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship, providing an opportunity to study a foreign language abroad this summer. Benjamin “Ben” Caltrider is a native of Charles Town who is double majoring in international studies and history.

5 WVU Bucklew Scholars chosen as 2026 Foundation Scholars

Twenty incoming West Virginia University students from across the Mountain State who are driven by shared passions for innovation and service have been named the 2026-27 cohort of Bucklew Scholars. From this distinguished group, five have been selected as Foundation Scholars, the highest academic scholarship the University awards.

4 WVU students named Goldwater Scholars, a University first

For the first time, West Virginia University has four recipients of the Goldwater Scholarship — Caden Ginter from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Mason Powell from Canaan Valley, Cloe Ratliff from Morgantown and Camndon Reed from Watertown, Massachusetts — who were chosen for their strong commitment to continuing careers in research.

Hourly, all-day challenges to boost WVU Day of Giving

Alumni and friends will have the opportunity to amplify the impact of their gifts Wednesday (March 25) during Day of Giving at West Virginia University. Participants can unlock additional dollars for the areas of WVU that matter most to them by taking part in day-long and hourly challenges.

Street, Jones reelected WVU Student Government Association leaders

For a second consecutive year, the West Virginia University student body will be led by Colin Street and Rozaireo Jones as Student Government Association president and vice president, respectively. The election campaign ended Thursday (March 5) as the SGA Judicial Court certified results for the 2026-27 academic year.
