With mental health concerns on the rise, WVU to offer new major in mental health and addiction studies

To meet West Virginia’s growing demand for mental health and addiction professionals, West Virginia University will launch a new undergraduate major in mental health and addiction studies for the 2021-2022 academic year. The program, housed in the College of Education and Human Services, is an expansion of the minor in addiction studies that began enrolling students in the fall of 2018.

Reynolds Hall, the future home of West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics, will propel students to the forefront of business education thanks to a multimillion-dollar gift from alumni W. Marston “Marty” and Katharine Becker that will bolster building construction, ensure academic success for students and help attract and retain top-notch faculty.
