WVU begins demolition activities at Stansbury Hall

West Virginia University has begun interior demolition activities at Stansbury Hall to make way for the construction of Reynolds Hall, the new home of the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.

WVU Police holding on-campus training exercise Wednesday

As part of continuing efforts to promote a safe and secure campus community, the West Virginia University Police Department and the Office of Emergency Management will hold an on-campus training exercise Wednesday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

UPDATE: WVU classes delayed additional hour; University operations normal

Classes will be delayed an additional hour on West Virginia University’s Morgantown campus Monday (March 4) due to inclement weather and road conditions. However, the remainder of the University, including buses, will operate on a normal schedule. West Virginia will see bitterly cold weather in the next couple of days. Temperatures will dip to single digits with negative wind chill factors predicted in some areas. West Virginia University officials urge students, faculty and staff to be prepared to avoid the dangers of frostbite and hypothermia. These conditions can occur in a matter of minutes.

PRT to close for West Virginia University fall break Oct. 12

The Personal Rapid Transit will be closed for passenger service Friday (Oct. 12) in observance of the West Virginia University fall break schedule. University shuttles will run from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on a continuous loop Friday at the following locations: Mountainlair, Evansdale Crossing, Towers and Mountaineer Station.

PRT will be closed for passenger service Sept.1 – 3

To accommodate additional testing of recent software updates, the West Virginia University Personal Rapid Transit will be closed for passenger service beginning Friday (Aug. 31) at 10:15 p.m. The PRT is closed on Sundays and will remain closed on Monday (Sept. 3) in observance of Labor Day. PRT passenger service will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday (Sept. 4) at 6:30 a.m.

West Virginia University’s PRT resumes operation ahead of Welcome Week 2018

The West Virginia University Personal Rapid Transit system resumed operations today (Aug. 9), in time for Welcome Week activities. The PRT came back online for passengers as part of the second phase of a multi-year modernization plan which is designed to upgrade and replace all electronics and train control systems - in essence, everything except the tracks and cars.

PRT suspends summer service for modernization and testing

Beginning May 5, West Virginia University’s PRT will be closed for passenger service to continue with automatic train control modernization and to perform other maintenance and testing activities. It is anticipated that normal operations will resume Wednesday, Aug. 1.
