Buchanan named Honda Sport Award Winner

Kadeisha Buchanan, a senior defender from the West Virginia University soccer team, was named the Honda Sport Award winner for soccer as announced by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards today.

2017 WVU football schedule released

West Virginia University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Shane Lyons, in conjunction with the Big 12 Conference, has announced the 2017 football schedule. Six home dates, a neutral site contest against longtime border-rival Virginia Tech at FedExField in Landover, Maryland, and five road games comprise the upcoming schedule.

West Virginia University women's soccer senior defender Kadeisha Buchanan has been named the TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Year. A native of Brampton, Ontario, Buchanan also previously earned espnW Player of the Year accolades.

Mountaineers invited to Russell Athletic Bowl fan events in Orlando

The West Virginia University football team is headed to the Russell Athletic Bowl to take on the Miami Hurricanes, Dec. 28, at Camping World Stadium. Those making the trip to Orlando are encouraged to join fellow Mountaineers at fan events planned Dec. 27-28.

Additional bowl tickets on sale in WVU allotment

The No. 16 West Virginia Mountaineers and the Miami Hurricanes will square off in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at Camping World Stadium. Additional tickets in the WVU allotment are now on sale to the general public.

Tickets for West Virginia's appearance in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl on Wednesday, December 28, at Camping World Stadium (65,000) in Orlando, Florida, are now on sale on a priority basis to 2016 Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) members and football season ticket holders at WVUGAME.com. MAC members and season ticket holders should login to their online account to place priority ticket requests.

Mountaineers to Play in Russell Athletic Bowl

he No. 16 West Virginia Mountaineers (10-2, 7-2 Big 12) and the Miami Hurricanes (8-4, 5-3 ACC) will play in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl. Florida Citrus Sports’ Chairman Harold Mills and CEO Steve Hogan announced the matchup today on behalf of the organization’s Team Selection Committee. The game will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28 at Camping World Stadium and will be televised nationally by ESPN.

Lyons announces Holgorsen contract extension

West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons has announced a contract extension for football head coach Dana Holgorsen, putting him under contract with the Mountaineers for the next five years.
