West Virginia University’s men’s soccer team and Alumni Association are able to continue their work in promoting academic excellence and providing the best sources of engagement at WVU thanks to a recent gift from dedicated Mountaineer alumni.

College of Media receives largest planned gift in history

The West Virginia University Reed College of Media is in an optimistic “State of Mind” after receiving its largest planned gift ever. A journalism alumna who wishes to remain anonymous has pledged $700,000 to the College through a planned estate gift. The bequest is part of “A State of Minds: The Campaign for West Virginia University.”

Alumni endow scholarship for psychology research

Future psychology students will continue to benefit from support from the Barry Edelstein Student Research Award, endowed this fall by a $50,000 gift from alumni Joe (B.S. Business Management, 1983; MBA, 1984) and Sharon (B.A. Psychology, 1984; MA Psychology, 1986; Ph.D. Psychology, 1991) Older.

Legendary West Virginia sportswriter Mickey Furfari, his wife Betty, a columnist at The Dominion News, now The Dominion Post and beloved journalism professor Paul Atkins left such an impression on Martha Smith that she is creating endowed scholarships in their names.
