WVU releases May 2018 Commencement Ceremony Information

West Virginia University’s May 2018 graduates will be honored during Commencement weekend, May 11-13. Graduates planning to participate in commencement exercises must register with their school or college during the Spring 2018 semester. Students and parents are encouraged to check the graduation website often in the months and weeks leading up to commencement weekend where information will be added as more details are confirmed.

Cisco executive, alumnus to address new digital era’s impact on education at WVU’s David C. Hardesty, Jr.Festival of Ideas series

There is no doubt that John Chambers has made an indelible impression on the global technology industry. And while he retired as chief executive officer of Cisco Systems Inc., in 2015 and plans to step down as Cisco’s executive chairman of the board at the end of the year when his term expires, Chambers is fully ready to take on new challenges.

2017 WVU Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer candidates named as part of Mountaineer Week, Oct. 20-29

West Virginia University has announced the finalists for Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer 2017, an award that recognizes students’ exemplary academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. A Mountaineer Week tradition, Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer will be named at the Saturday (Oct. 28) WVU football game vs. Oklahoma State at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Cunningham and Hageboeck named 2017 WVU Homecoming queen, king

A week of Homecoming activities at West Virginia University culminated today (Oct. 14) with the crowning of Morgan Cunningham and Charlie Hageboeck as the 2017 king and queen. The announcement was made during the half-time ceremony at Saturday’s Homecoming football game against Texas Tech.

WVU team of business and engineering students wins third straight supply chain competition at University of Pittsburgh

West Virginia University continues to put a winning team into the supply chain arena, as a four-member group comprised of business and engineering students won the Race to the Case Supply Chain Management Competition for the third consecutive year October 8. The case competition was held at the University of Pittsburgh and included a field of nine teams.

Tent City returns for WVU Homecoming

The fourth annual Tent City is making a comeback this week in celebration of West Virginia University Homecoming and the Mountaineer’s first 2017 Big 12 Conference football season home game. WVU students will begin erecting tents Tuesday (Oct. 10) at 8 a.m. on the Mountainlair Plaza and will camp until noon on Friday (Oct. 13) in anticipation of the 2017 Homecoming football weekend.
