WVU alumnus 'pays it forward,' establishes endowed scholarship for undergraduate students

West Virginia University alumnus Ralph Glover, Jr., believes in “paying it forward” when it comes to helping WVU students. To this end, he has established the Ralph Glover Forestry Scholarship, an endowed fund that will support undergraduate students enrolled in the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design’s Division of Forestry and Natural Resources.

The West Virginia Healthy Start Navigator Project, a West Virginia University program, is still working to help community members find and sign up for affordable health coverage as open enrollment for the Federal Marketplace continues through Jan. 31.

WVU rare books collection now has certified librarian

West Virginia University Libraries offers a rare book collection that includes works from William Shakespeare and Mark Twain. The collection now has a certified librarian who maintains care of the rare volumes and keeps an eye out for what more modern publications should be added.

Alumni endow scholarship for psychology research

Future psychology students will continue to benefit from support from the Barry Edelstein Student Research Award, endowed this fall by a $50,000 gift from alumni Joe (B.S. Business Management, 1983; MBA, 1984) and Sharon (B.A. Psychology, 1984; MA Psychology, 1986; Ph.D. Psychology, 1991) Older.

Nehlen presented AFCA's Amos Alonzo Stagg Award

Former West Virginia legendary coach and Hall of Famer Don Nehlen was awarded the Amos Alonzo Stagg Award, one of the highest awards given by the American Football Coaches Association for lifetime achievement, Tuesday (Jan. 10), during the live broadcast of the organization's Coaches Awards at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.

WVU researcher develops methodology to merge operations of world’s largest airline group

This is an all-too familiar site to frequent travelers. The plane you are scheduled to fly on has a technical or maintenance issue. The airline is scrambling to find another plane despite the fact that one of its partners has a plane sitting idle at the next gate. Thanks to West Virginia University Teaching Assistant Professor Pete Gall, that may be coming to an end for the world’s largest airline group.

Nehlen and Holgorsen to be honored

Former West Virginia Football Coach and College Football Hall of Famer Don Nehlen and current Mountaineer Football Coach Dana Holgorsen will be honored tonight (Jan. 10) by the American Football Coaches' Association on its inaugural Coaches' Awards Show aired live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, on CBS Sports Network at 9 p.m, ET.
