Even as its State of Minds fund-raising campaign nears a successful conclusion, the need for continued financial support for West Virginia University continues, the Board of Governors was told Friday.
Longtime supporters of West Virginia University, alumni Curtis H. “Hank” Barnette and his wife, Joanne Harner Barnette, are donating to the University the Harner-Barnette farm which includes 10 acres of land outside Morgantown, a house and related buildings on the property with furnishings, and farm implements.
West Virginia faces a critical time in its history as it is lags behind a growing national economy, West Virginia University President Gordon Gee told state business leaders Thursday as he unveiled a comprehensive study of how to address those issues and put the state on the road to prosperity.
