WVU Extension Service interim dean focused on land-grant mission, outreach

Sue Day-Perroots is no stranger to West Virginia University and the State of West Virginia. After 34 years of service in key roles at the University, she retired as associate provost in 2017. When President Gordon Gee presented her with an opportunity to return “home” to lead WVU Extension Service, she jumped at the chance to bring her trademark energy, enthusiasm and focus on results to the role.

WVU names 2019 Foundation Scholars

Five of the state’s best and brightest senior high school students who had their choice of some of the nation’s most esteemed colleges have chosen to attend West Virginia University as 2019 Foundation Scholars, the highest academic scholarship the University awards.

WVU recognizes six faculty members as Foundation Outstanding Teachers for 2019

This year’s honorees are Manal AlNatour, Dana Huebert Lima, Kimberly Meigh, Joshua Osbourn, Audra Slocum and Andrea Taliaferro. Established in 1985 by the WVU Foundation, the Outstanding Teaching Award honors faculty who are particularly effective and inspiring teachers, as well as faculty who have established patterns of exceptional innovation in their teaching methods, course and curriculum design and instructional tools.

Maryanne Reed named provost at West Virginia University

Maryanne Reed, who transformed West Virginia University’s journalism school into an exemplar of modern media training as the Reed College of Media, was named provost and vice president for academic affairs of the University on Wednesday (April 17).
