WVU's Brumage named new director of state Office of Drug Control Policy

Dr. Michael Brumage, assistant dean for public health practice and service at the West Virginia University School of Public Health, will lead the effort against West Virginia's opioid drug crisis. Gov. Jim Justice today (Feb. 5) appointed Brumage the director of the Office of Drug Control Policy in the Department of Health and Human Resources.

WVU researcher examines patient awareness of prescription drug risks

Prescription medications, including antidepressants and pain medications, can have various side effects and risks, and a West Virginia University researcher is examining whether patients understand the risks associated with driving. Robin Pollini, Associate Director of the WVU School of Public Health’s Injury Control Research Center, led a study on driver awareness of the potential effects of prescription medications.

WVU releases May 2018 Commencement Ceremony Information

West Virginia University’s May 2018 graduates will be honored during Commencement weekend, May 11-13. Graduates planning to participate in commencement exercises must register with their school or college during the Spring 2018 semester. Students and parents are encouraged to check the graduation website often in the months and weeks leading up to commencement weekend where information will be added as more details are confirmed.
