WVU provides a look forward for fall 2021 semester

West Virginia University’s fall 2021 semester begins on Wednesday, Aug. 18. While many public health guidelines will remain in effect, there is much hope that we can return to a vibrant campus environment. Our priority for the fall semester is simple: We want to ensure in-person instruction for our students so they can enjoy the full college experience.

Lyons announces contract extension for Brown

West Virginia University Director of Athletics and Associate Vice President Shane Lyons has announced a two-year contract extension for football head coach Neal Brown that will run through the 2026 season.

Huggins family patriarch passes away

Charlie Huggins, the father of West Virginia University men's basketball coach Bob Huggins, has died. Charlie Huggins is a legendary name in Ohio prep basketball circles, the elder Huggins having coached three teams to Class A state championships in 1967, 1972 and 1976.

WVU to hold four in-person commencement ceremonies in May

West Virginia University graduates will return to in-person commencement ceremonies this May; and although some restrictions will be in place because of COVID-19, the celebrations will be no less memorable for the 4,499 who walk across the stage to receive their diplomas. Graduates from May, August and December 2020 are also eligible to participate in the exercises.

Major gift boosts Reynolds Hall construction, student success and faculty support for WVU Chambers College

Reynolds Hall, the future home of West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics, will propel students to the forefront of business education thanks to a multimillion-dollar gift from alumni W. Marston “Marty” and Katharine Becker that will bolster building construction, ensure academic success for students and help attract and retain top-notch faculty.
