Transformative renovations within the West Virginia University School of Dentistry are radically modernizing facilities to enhance patient care and oral healthcare education for the next generation of West Virginia dentists and dental hygienists.

Legendary West Virginia University linebacker Sam Huff died Saturday, Nov. 13, in Winchester, Virginia, following years of declining health. President Gordon Gee joined Director of Athletics Shane Lyons in paying homage to Huff.

President Gordon Gee sent a letter to West Virginia University faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends on Monday, Nov. 8 to address concerns raised by his advisory role at the University of Austin noting this opportunity highlights how transformation across the WVU System can help lift all of higher education.

A dedicated attorney, a career educator, a computer software entrepreneur, an engineering professor and a research administrator are among this year’s “Most Loyals” to be honored during the 74th Mountaineer Week on West Virginia University’s campus.

To further enhance the lifelong Mountaineer experience, the WVU Alumni Association is entering into a strategic alumni engagement partnership with West Virginia University.

A new college at West Virginia University will focus on human development and physical and mental well-being helping people live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.

West Virginia University will hold its 31st annual Sports Hall of Fame induction on Saturday prior to the WVU-Iowa State football game. Induction ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. in the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility. The public is invited to attend, and the event is free of charge. The 2021 class includes Keri Bland (cross country/track), Nicco Campriani (rifle), Noel Devine (football), Dale Farley (football), Mike Fox (football), Lajuanda Moody (gymnastics) and Olayinka Sanni (women's basketball).

At nearly 9,500-square-feet, the Lane Innovation Hub — established in honor of Ray Lane and his wife, Stephanie, will transform entrepreneurial opportunities for students in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources and the people of West Virginia.

Creating space and time for students to discover their life paths, West Virginia University will open the nation’s first Purpose Institute on a college campus, President Gordon Gee announced at his annual State of the University address Monday (Oct. 18) at the College of Law’s Fitzsimmons Event Hall.
