WVU names 2025 class of Ruby Fellows

Four promising West Virginia University doctoral students are continuing their academic journeys with support from the Ruby Scholars Graduate Fellows program.

Richards elected WVU Foundation Board chair

J. Wayne Richards will serve a two-year term as chairman of the West Virginia University Foundation Board of Directors. The 1981 mining engineering alumnus is president and CEO of GR Energy Services based in Sugar Land, Texas.

WVU to induct 5 into Order of Vandalia

In recognition of their loyalty and service to West Virginia University, five Mountaineers will be inducted into the Order of Vandalia during a Friday (June 6) ceremony. The 2025 inductees are Judge Irene Berger, Dr. John Brick, Tom Jones, Ken Kendrick and Carolyn Long.

WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Chair Dr. Ali Rezai receives prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor

Dr. Ali Rezai, executive chair of the West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, has received the 2025 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In selecting Dr. Rezai, the Ellis Island Honors Society cited his pioneering work in neuroscience using technologies such as focused ultrasound and deep brain stimulation to unlock new potential in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, addiction and other conditions.
