Benedum Foundation’s latest grants continue support to WVU

The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation recently awarded three grants to West Virginia University through the WVU Foundation totaling $304,300. These grants will benefit various programs, initiatives, and individuals at WVU.

Pulitzer Prize, Grammy winners among West Virginia University commencement speakers

A West Virginia University alumna who delved into the unseemly world of Indonesian slavery and brought home a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and a Grammy winning Mountain State native whose music has been covered by legends of the industry and sung at presidential inaugurations top the ranks of speakers at the University’s commencement ceremonies this year. WVU will hold commencement exercises at all 15 colleges and schools over a three-day period May 12-14.

Humphrey, Smith elected WVU Student Government Association leaders

The campaign for West Virginia University student body president and vice president ended Friday evening as the Student Government Association Judicial Board announced Blake Humphrey and Shannon Smith as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2017-18 academic year.

WVU and Marshall team up to host INTEGRATE marketing communications conference

West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media and Marshall University’s W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communication are partnering to present INTEGRATE West Virginia, a two-day conference for marketing communications students and professionals. INTEGRATE WV will be held June 2-3 at Marshall University’s new Visual Arts Center in downtown Huntington.
