WVU team selected to compete in EcoCAR Mobility Challenge

Seeking to build off its second-place finish in the final year of the EcoCAR 3 competition, the team from West Virginia University was one of 12 to be selected for the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge, which will feature the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer as the vehicle platform.

Scott, Antinone, named 2018 WVU Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer

The University has named Stephen Scott and Mia Antinone the 2018 Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer. A long-time Mountaineer Week tradition, the prestigious award recognizes exemplary academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. In addition to the Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer presentation, WVU’s Most Loyals were honored during halftime ceremonies of the Thursday (Oct. 25) football game.

Walton Family Foundation Fellow to speak at WVU on characteristics of competitive places

Ross DeVol, a Walton Fellow with the Walton Family Foundation, will present “Characteristics of Competitive Places: The Role of the Entrepreneur and University,” Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m., at West Virginia University. The lecture, part of the Glen H. Hiner Distinguished Lecture Series in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, will be held in room G102 of the Engineering Sciences Building on the Evansdale campus.

WVU grad student pursues drug to treat aggressive form of blood cancer

Osama Elzamzamy, a doctoral student in the West Virginia University School of Medicine, is researching a new drug for use when multiple myeloma just won’t leave a patient alone. He is part of WVU’s doctoral program in clinical and translational science.
