Brown named WVU’s 35th football coach

Neal Brown, one of six FBS coaches to win 10 or more games in each of the last three years, has been named West Virginia University’s 35th head football coach. WVU President Dr. E. Gordon Gee, in conjunction with Director of Athletics Shane Lyons, officially signed Brown to a six-year, $19,050,000 contract.

A student entrepreneur at West Virginia University will learn how to grow his business when he studies in Hong Kong as a Gilman Scholar. Demitrus Jones, a junior majoring in entrepreneurship and innovation in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, will attend Hong Kong Baptist University in the spring semester.

New research suggests forests, like humans, require a balanced diet

The world’s forests are on a fast food diet of carbon dioxide, which is currently causing them to grow faster. But a researcher at West Virginia University, along with an international team of scientists, finds evidence suggesting that forest growth may soon peak as the trees deplete nitrogen in the soil over longer growing seasons.
