Student leaders committed to work that aids West Virginia and its residents are invited to apply for the 2022 Hazel Ruby McQuain Graduate Scholarship.

West Virginia University’s Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design is building upon a $521,000 legacy gift from a late alumnus to provide needed support for its research, education and outreach centers statewide.

Supporters of West Virginia University donated a record $15.5 million Wednesday (March 9) during the University’s fifth Day of Giving, a 24-hour online fundraising event held across the University system. More than 5,600 gifts were made, also a new record. The $15.5 million figure tops 2021’s WVU Day of Giving record of $11.9 million raised from just over 5,000 gifts.

Mountain State students pursuing a medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine will benefit from a $250,000 scholarship gift made by a retired alumnus in memory of his late wife. Dr. Kent Webb, of Wilmington, North Carolina, established the Judy Forester Webb & Kent Webb School of Medicine Scholarship.

As the COVID-19 pandemic persists, West Virginia University alumni and friends are providing financial support to help students facing financial challenges proceed with their education and achieve their dreams.

The West Virginia University Alumni Association, Mountaineer Athletic Club and WVU Foundation are partnering to host events for fans attending the Guaranteed Rate Bowl later this month in Phoenix, Arizona. The WVU football team will battle Minnesota on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Chase Field.
