WVU, Marshall launch program to keep young professionals in the Mountain State

First Ascent, a new program designed to cultivate and retain local talent within West Virginia, is now accepting applications from recent West Virginia University and Marshall University graduates, helping the Mountain State’s best and brightest young professionals stay close to home.

Seven WVU students earn Fulbright Scholarships

The seven West Virginia University students and alumni will teach English or conduct research abroad over the next year, part of the U.S. government’s flagship international exchange program.

WVU names 2023 class of Ruby Fellows

This year's Ruby Scholars Graduate Fellows are Christopher Anderson, Jessica Hovingh, Annalisa Huckaby, Nicole Krahulik and Travis Rawson. Each student will receive a $34,000 stipend, a $2,000 travel grant and tuition waiver to allow them to continue their doctoral-level research at West Virginia University.

Two WVU students earn Boren Scholarships to study abroad

West Virginia University students Hunter Moore and Christelle Temple will fully immerse themselves in learning Russian and Swahili, respectively, after earning the prestigious Boren Scholarship, providing students from diverse fields the opportunity to travel to areas critical to United States interests and national security.
