Health care teams from WVU help ensure safety at high adventure Jamboree

While thousands of young Scouts have been ziplining, whitewater rafting and rock climbing at the 2023 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree, members of the West Virginia University community are on hand to keep their adventure moving “Forward,” the theme of this year’s event.

WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors welcomes new members

A West Virginia University alumnus and a current student are joining the WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors. Michael Bell of Denver will serve a six-year term and student member Brogan Dozier from Charles Town will serve a one-year term, following their selection during the Alumni Association’s recent annual business meeting.

WVU robotics team wins international Mars rover challenge

The West Virginia University robotics team, based at the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, topped dozens of other teams from 10 countries in a competition to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers during the 2023 University Rover Challenge in Hanksville, Utah.

Showing their ‘Pride’: WVU alumni couple boosts Pride Practice Facility effort

Amy and Donal Hall, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, met as trombone players for “The Pride of West Virginia” and married after graduating with their bachelor’s degrees in the 1980s. Daughter Keeley Hagans followed in their footsteps three decades later, demonstrating the family’s shared passion for the Mountaineer Marching Band.

Two WVU students awarded Critical Language Scholarship

Ariana Burks and Matthew Kinzer, both West Virginia natives, will spend two months learning Arabic and Japanese, respectively, while traveling abroad this summer as West Virginia University recipients of the U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship.

Five incoming freshmen eager to find solutions that will change their communities and the world for the better have been named 2023-24 West Virginia University Foundation Scholars, the highest academic scholarship the University awards.

This year's recipients of the Order of Augusta, the most prestigious West Virginia University student award, are among the 52 students selected as WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors. They will be recognized during an event on May 12 in Morgantown.
