Two West Virginia University alumni with successful careers in information technology and health care were elected to the WVU Foundation Board of Directors at its annual meeting.

WVU grad celebrates mom’s legacy with $200K School of Nursing scholarship gift

Jason G. Cooper, a West Virginia University alumnus, established the Julia Nell Cooper Memorial Nursing Scholarship in memory of his mother, who worked as a nurse for more than 30 years. The scholarship goes to West Virginia students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing who have demonstrated financial need.

WVU to induct five into Order of Vandalia

Five Mountaineers — Dana Brooks, Robert DiClerico, Pam Maphis Larrick, Nora MacDonald and J. Wayne Richards — will be honored Saturday (June 10) for their loyalty and service to West Virginia University as they are inducted into the Order of Vandalia.

WVU robotics team wins international Mars rover challenge

The West Virginia University robotics team, based at the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, topped dozens of other teams from 10 countries in a competition to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers during the 2023 University Rover Challenge in Hanksville, Utah.

Showing their ‘Pride’: WVU alumni couple boosts Pride Practice Facility effort

Amy and Donal Hall, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, met as trombone players for “The Pride of West Virginia” and married after graduating with their bachelor’s degrees in the 1980s. Daughter Keeley Hagans followed in their footsteps three decades later, demonstrating the family’s shared passion for the Mountaineer Marching Band.
