WVU Extension Service recently recognized several donors who have made significant contributions to Extension’s mission with Extension Partner Appreciation awards.

WVU Extension celebrates future leaders as part of National 4-H Week

Young people who participate in 4-H gain valuable leadership skills that will serve them well inside and outside of the classroom. WVU Extension 4-H’ers will join more than 63,000 of their peers in celebrating National 4-H Week. The week-long celebration begins Oct. 1 and runs through Oct. 7 and will focus on theme, “Grow True Leaders.”

WVU mining extension instructor inducted into National Coal Mine Rescue Hall of Fame

Jonathan Sabo, a mine rescue and fire brigade instructor with West Virginia University’s Mining Extension Service, has been inducted into the National Coal Mine Rescue Hall of Fame. Established by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, the Hall of Fame honors individuals who stand out as exceptional in the field of mine rescue.
