A ‘Bright’ future: $1M gift boosts Blanche Lazzell acquisition effort at WVU

Nearly 30 years after longtime West Virginia University supporter Patricia Bright was first introduced to the artwork of renowned American modernist Blanche Lazzell, she and husband William Bright are helping to bring the Mountain State native’s work home to Morgantown with a gift to the College of Creative Arts.

Amy and Donal Hall, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, met as trombone players for “The Pride of West Virginia” and married after graduating with their bachelor’s degrees in the 1980s. Daughter Keeley Hagans followed in their footsteps three decades later, demonstrating the family’s shared passion for the Mountaineer Marching Band.
