The Grand Council of Phi Sigma Kappa notified West Virginia University Wednesday (Oct. 25) that it has suspended the charter of the Delta Chapter, not a recognized WVU student organization.

The decision effectively closes Phi Sigma Kappa which was previously disassociated subject to ongoing conduct-related sanctions.

The notification comes after representatives from the WVU Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership and the WVU Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities met with the national organization this week to share new reports of concerning behavior brought to the University’s attention.

Even though Phi Sigma Kappa is not recognized by the University, members who are WVU students must still adhere to the Student Conduct Code and violations will also be appropriately addressed by the OSRR.

While chapter activities ended immediately, students will be allowed to complete their leases until May. The Center for Fraternal Values and Leadership is working with the national organization to connect students who may need to access resources.
