WVU launches fundraising campaign to aid underrepresented students

Historic and systemic obstacles, made more pressing by the COVID-19 pandemic, mean current and prospective students from underrepresented groups often need financial help to start or continue their education at West Virginia University. The WVU Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise scholarship support for students from these groups

‘Breathe, Nolan, Breathe’ documentary nominated for an Emmy

A documentary born from tragedy, but which inspired a national safety campaign, is now nominated for a regional Emmy. “Breathe, Nolan, Breathe” chronicles the events during and after a 2014 hazing event at an unsanctioned fraternity that led to Nolan Burch’s death, a then freshman at West Virginia University.

WVU’s Huggins lends name to McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative

Kentucky coach John Calipari has always been an idea guy and his latest one involves roughly 35 college basketball coaches so far, including West Virginia's Bob Huggins. Calipari's plan is to use the influence and resources college basketball coaches have to partner with the John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation to launch the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative.
