University Police issue alert, assist Morgantown officers in off-campus incident

 UPDATE: 3:03 p.m. (March 10)

WVU Police issued a follow-up Alert indicating the incident on North Willey Street was safely resolved and it was safe to resume normal activities.

ORIGINAL: 1:35 p.m. (March 10)

West Virginia University University Police issued a WVU Alert shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (March 10) asking people to avoid the area of North Willey Street after a reported off-campus incident. 

UPD officers responded to the scene providing assistance and support to Morgantown Police. MPD is the lead investigative agency in the incident.

University officials also reminded students to always remain aware of their surroundings, walk in well-lit areas and consider other personal safety tips, advice and services located at safety.wvu.edu.
