WVU Medicine Children’s has received its first national ranking from U.S. News & World Report, tied for 42nd in the nation for pediatric urology with Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital.
To meet growing healthcare needs locally and statewide, the West Virginia University School of Medicine is launching a new physician assistant education program. The 26-month, full-time graduate program will lead to a master’s degree in health sciences. The program will begin accepting students in January 2020 and is comprised of four semesters of classroom instruction followed by a full year of clinical training.
West Virginia University’s Experimental Rocketry team overcame near catastrophic setbacks to capture second place in the 10,000 foot-launch category at the second annual Spaceport America Cup. The event, which was held on June 19-23, near Las Cruces, New Mexico, hosts student rocketry teams from all over the world to launch solid, liquid, and hybrid rockets to target altitudes of 10,000 and 30,000 feet while carrying a minimum of 8.8 pounds of payload.

Through a new Scholar in Residence program at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Douglas Myers, an associate professor in the WVU School of Public Health, will serve as a primary liaison between the School and several local, regional and state partners.
