WVU plans Friday bell-ringing ceremony

West Virginia University will hold a bell-ringing ceremony, coordinated by the Office of Campus and Community Life and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, on Friday (Aug. 31) in remembrance of students Christopher Stratton, Chase Peebles, Tonya Cesa and Jonathan Lester.

Stratton, 46, a graduate student studying legal studies from Stollings, died on February 17; Peebles, 23, a management information systems major from Kearneysville, died on May 5; Cesa, 20, an intermedia/photography major from Morgantown, died on May 9; and, Lester, a high school special student from Danville, died on May 27.

The service will begin promptly at noon at Oglebay Plaza on WVU’s downtown campus, and those interested in attending are asked to be there at least 15 minutes beforehand. Family, friends and members of the University community are welcome to attend Friday’s ceremony.
