Clay Marsh, WVU Health Sciences vice president and executive dean, recently announced the formation of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in the School of Medicine, effective Jan. 1. Vinay Badhwar, M.D., Gordon F. Murray Professor and executive chair of the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute, will serve as the department's founding chair.
