Business, government, academia come together to move West Virginia Forward

West Virginia’s economy is in transition, and it will take a collaborative effort by business, government and academia to ensure revitalization instead of stagnation, leaders from all three areas said Wednesday in releasing a summary of findings of a study entitled “West Virginia Forward: Maximizing our Opportunities for Prosperity.”

New law scholarship at WVU will benefit rural communities

A new scholarship established at West Virginia University by the West Virginia State Bar Association is designed to increase legal services in rural communities across the Mountain State. The Rural Practice Scholarship at the WVU College of Law will be awarded to two members of the Class of 2020 who commit to practicing law in under-served areas.

WVU engineering professor named Fellow of Electrochemical Society

Nianqiang “Nick” Wu, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at West Virginia University, has been named a Fellow of the Electrochemical Society. The distinction, granted to no more than 15 people annually, was established in 1989 to recognize advanced individual technological contributions in electrochemical and solid-state science and technology. Wu is the first from WVU to be granted this distinction.
