Families who find themselves at WVU Medicine Children’s, away from home and struggling to adjust to their new circumstances, can now find resources and support at the Jeff and Vicky Hostetler Family Resource Center, which was dedicated today (Aug. 8) at the hospital.
As part of its partnership with WVU and IMG College, West Virginia Illustrated is set to kick off the 2017 season by airing its "Mountaineer GameDay - The Fall Football Special” this weekend. The special will first air on Friday (Aug. 11) at 5 p.m. on AT&T Sports Network, Saturday (Aug. 12) at 11 a.m. and Aug. 16, at 12:30 p.m., prior to the Pirates-Brewers pregame show.
One of the biggest factors hampering the growth of renewable energy is storage. Sun and wind are intermittent and dependent on geography, requiring energy storage and transportation. Batteries are a means of addressing the storage problem, but they have a low-energy density, and are relatively expensive and difficult to transport. A researcher at West Virginia University will be investigating one possible alternative that could potentially create a route to “green” hydrocarbons.
