More than 80 business and enrollment officers from around the Big 12 athletic conference will be on the campus of West Virginia University beginning Sunday for their annual three-day meeting.
“Many miles separate our institutions, but we have much in common,” said Anjali Halabe, WVU’s associate vice president for finance. “Today’s challenges facing higher education affect all of us as we work to move our universities forward. There is much we can learn from each other – and much we can do collaboratively.”
In addition to their meetings, the attendees will tour various parts of WVU, including the Center for Alternative Fuels, Engines and Emissions, the Personal Rapid Transit and Coopers Rock.
The Big 12 Business Officers and Enrollment Services is one of several auxiliary, non-athletic groups tied to the conference. Others are: government relations; general counsels, Student Governance Conference; business officers, directors and housing operations, recreation services, facilities, risk managers, development, deans and directors of students, teaching and learning conference, Greek advisors, health directors and chief student affairs officers. The conference also sponsors an MBA Case and mock trial competitions.
