Cancer Prevention and Control at the West Virginia University Cancer Institute is raising awareness about cervical cancer and how to prevent it through a documentary titled “SOMEONE YOU LOVE: THE HPV EPIDEMIC.”
A West Virginia University School of Theatre and Dance professor will choreograph more than the audience will see at the annual "Dance Now!" concert Feb. 2-4. He'll also direct the behind the scenes efforts for the production, collaborate with another school and work with local choreographers.
More than a year after the WVU Syrian Refugee Campaign was begun, the effort has raised awareness of the refugee crisis and funding for food vouchers that support 57 families consisting of 130 adults and 131 children for an entire month.
It currently takes 10 years and more than $1 billion to get a promising drug from the bench to the bedside in the U.S. pharmaceutical market, but a team of three West Virginia University graduate students have developed a new solution to the archaic and inefficient use of laboratory animals in testing these drugs.
A newly established endowment will support the West Virginia University College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences. The Sandra J. Elmore Academic Scholarship will provide scholarships for qualified students in the college.
