Anytime Fitness Morgantown will hold its grand opening at 1 pm Friday (Jan. 27) in its latest health club facility on the ground floor of University Park, West Virginia University’s new contemporary mixed-use residence hall and apartment complex on the Evansdale campus.
The development is a public-private partnership, which includes approximately 1,310 beds, food services and retail development that benefit both WVU students and the surrounding neighborhood. The 5,080-square-foot Anytime Fitness will host a public reception following the ceremony and will be staffed all night for free public access to the facility’s amenities, which include: advanced cardio and strength equipment, WellBeats classes on demand, tanning, HydroMassage, studio classes, personal and group training.
“As a graduate of WVU and the father of three Mountaineers, I am beyond excited that as a family we can offer such a positive service to the WVU employees and students and our local community, and in the process create job opportunities,” Anytime Fitness owner Mark Ciamarra said. “It is especially rewarding to be working with my two sons in the town that has brought us all so many great academic and athletic memories.”
The new Anytime Fitness is within walking distance of WVU’s Health Sciences Campus, Ruby Memorial Hospital, Milan Puskar Stadium, WVU’s College of Law and WVU’s main transportation hub, Mountaineer Station.
The fitness center is open 24 hours every day and is available not only for WVU employees, faculty and students, but also to the Greater Morgantown community and visitors.
Other retail venues at University Park include IHOP, Friendly Nails and the soon-to-be opened Smoothie King.
