West Virginia University student creates advocacy smart phone app

A West Virginia University student has created a smart phone app that turns clicktivists into activists, in as few as four clicks. Dubbed “OSAY,” you can see WVU student innovation and entrepreneurship on display. The app launches in West Virginia today (Feb. 21).

WVU course helps diabetics learn helpful lifestyle skills

To help people with diabetes take charge of their health, WVU Continuing Professional Education and WVU Extension Service are offering the popular online course “Dining with Diabetes,” beginning March 6.

WVU’s Statler College to officially open Career Closet, dedicate Katherine Johnson Conference Room

A ceremony will be held to officially open the Statler College’s Career Closet, as well as dedicate its Katherine Johnson Conference Room. The Closet was established by the WVU chapters of Sigma Phi Delta, Alpha Omega Epsilon and the WVU Society of Women Engineers section. It allows students to obtain business attire from clothing donated by WVU faculty, staff, alumni, students and friends.

Law clinic students win two cases for veterans

Student attorneys in the Veterans Advocacy Clinic at the West Virginia University College of Law recently won two cases in federal court. Both cases involved U.S. Air Force veterans with disability claims. Law students Kirsten Lilly, James Dorsey, C.J. Reid and Rachel Roush represented their clients in the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

WVU to announce leadership gift from Robert and Laura Reynolds

A special announcement regarding a leadership gift from Robert and Laura Reynolds will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Feb. 10). The announcement event will take place at West Virginia University’s Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.

WVU experts available to discuss State of the State address

Newly-elected Governor Jim Justice will deliver his first State of the State address today (Feb. 8) as the regular session of the 2017 West Virginia Legislature begins. Several West Virginia University faculty members will be available to offer reaction and expert commentary to the media tonight and in the days following Justice’s speech.
