WVU to host West Virginia Scholastic Esports League Fall Finals

WHAT: For the first time, West Virginia University will serve as the host site for the West Virginia Scholastic Esports League Fall Finals.

WHEN: Friday, Jan. 23
Opening remarks begin at 8:50 a.m. Competition starts at 9 a.m.

WHERE: WVU Mountainlair Ballroom, 1550 University Ave., Morgantown

WHO: WVU Esports students, competitors and instructors, leading West Virginia high school esports teams and players, coaches and spectators

NOTES: This year’s event will feature 15 West Virginia teams in in-person semifinal and final matchups for Marvel Rivals, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Rocket League, Apex Legends, Brawlhalla, Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch 2.

Along with the competition, WVU Esports varsity players will lead coaching seminars. Workshops will be available on building audiences and creating content for various platforms. Open play zones featuring game consoles, PCs, tabletop games and vintage arcade cabinets will also be available.
