WHAT: The West Virginia University Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design will host its inaugural Farm Fest to celebrate the cutting-edge research, teaching and outreach happening on farms and in labs to help improve local communities and the state.

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 14
WHERE: Animal Science Research, Education and Outreach Center, 1400 Stewartstown Road, Morgantown
NOTES:
The best photo and video opportunities are as follows:
· 9 a.m. — Trail building service project
Prior to Farm Fest, volunteers will gather at the Animal Science REOC to learn how to create trails for recreation. Trail building will follow the presentation.
· Noon to 5 p.m. — Demonstrations and exhibits
Demonstrations include natural fabric dying, flying drones — weather permitting — and soil profiling. Exhibits include farm animals, the WVU Insect Zoo and dogs from the Hearts of Gold therapy program.
· 1, 2 and 3 p.m. — Sheep shearing
Attendees can watch the sheep shearing process from start to finish, including the wool product and weaving process.

Farm Fest is being held in conjunction with WVU Fall Family Weekend, sponsored by the Mountaineer Parents Club.
