WVU launches refreshed student food pantry with donations from Kroger and Kraft Heinz

WHAT: Celebration of the completion of a relocation and refresh of The Rack: West Virginia University Student Food Pantry

WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 12:30 p.m.

WHERE: Morgan House Great Room, 660 N. High Street, Morgantown

WHO: Members of West Virginia University leadership, Kroger Mid-Atlantic and Kraft Heinz representatives 

Planned speakers include:

  • Gordon Gee, President, West Virginia University
  • Allison McGee, Corporate Affairs Manager, Kroger Mid-Atlantic 
  • Steve Froemming, Customer Retail Manager, Kraft Heinz
  • B.J. Davisson, Executive Vice President, WVU Foundation
  • Corey Farris, Dean of Students, West Virginia University

NOTES: After brief remarks, members of the media will have opportunities to conduct interviews, and the pantry will be open for media to obtain b-roll and photos of the new amenities. Upgrades to the pantry were made possible by a combined $60,000 in donations from Kroger and Kraft Heinz and will allow it to serve more students facing food insecurity each year.
