WVU’s first ‘Fashion With a Purpose’ to create business model that addresses Appalachia’s economic challenges

WHAT: “Fashion Impact Challenge: Fashion with a Purpose” teams current West Virginia University students with high school students from across West Virginia to research and create a profitable, durable and scalable fashion business model linked to a solution or long-term financial sustainability plan to address Appalachia’s most pressing challenges. 

WHO: Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design’s Fashion, Dress and Merchandising program and School of Design and Community Development, WVU Launch Lab, WVU Extension Service

WHEN: March 6 - 8 

WHERE: Evansdale Crossing, 62 Morrill Way, Morgantown

NOTES: Teams will pitch their business ideas to peers, faculty and industry representatives at 10 a.m. Sunday (March 8) at the WVU Launch Lab.

The immersive weekend experience will connect students with coaches and disciplinary experts to develop teambuilding, research and entrepreneurship skills.
