Mine rescue competition to test teams’ readiness

WHAT:  The National Mine Rescue Association - Post 5 mine rescue contest

WHO:  Representatives from 20 mine rescue teams from across the country will compete in a two-day mine rescue, first aid, pre-shift and bench competition. Representatives from mining regulatory agencies representing West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and federal personnel will judge the teams.

Joshua Brady, interim associate director of the West Virginia University Mining and Industrial Extension, Post 5 Mine Rescue Association president, will be on-site and available for media interviews.

WHEN:  July 30 – Aug. 1, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
