WVU hosts Community Physics Festival

WHAT: Community Physics Festival, including tours of working labs, demonstrations and popular science talks

WHO: West Virginia University students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty

WHEN: Saturday (July 20) 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

WHERE: White Hall, Willey St., Morgantown 

NOTES: Celebrate the 50th anniversary of humankind’s first steps on the moon with three full-dome planetarium shows and a featured presentation by Hilda Heady, whose aunt, Bonnie Holmes, was the main assistant to key NASA rocket developer Werner von Braun. Demonstrations include an electromagnetic can crusher and liquid nitrogen ice cream.
