WVU to host Pedestrian Safety Symposium and Summit

WHO: The West Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program, housed in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University, West Virginia Division of Highways, City of Morgantown and Monongalia County 

WHAT: Three-day pedestrian safety event 

Tuesday, June 11
8:30 a.m. - 4p.m.
This one-day Pedestrian Safety Symposium will cover the pedestrian safety initiative, understanding the issues, Morgantown Monongalia Metropolitan Planning Organization’s bicycle study, experiences from other agencies, MMMPO Consultant’s Experience, safety toolbox and open discussions.             

Wednesday, June 12
8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Attendees of this two-day summit will review presentations on federal regulations, American Disabilities Act, law enforcement initiatives, pedestrian road safety audit field activity and small group exercises. 

Thursday, June 13
8:30 a.m. - noon
Moderators will conduct small group discussions regarding education and engineering, review comments from the previous day and attendees will participate in small group exercises.
