WVU’s BrandJRNY hosts Pineville brand launch

WHAT: West Virginia University Reed College of Media’s BrandJRNY will launch a new brand for Pineville, including a logo, slogan, promotional materials and creative and advertising plans

WHO: Pineville Mayor Mike Kodak, Wyoming County Economic Development Authority Executive Director Christy Laxton, representatives from Brand JRNY

WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 6 p.m. (opening speakers), 6:30 – 8 p.m. (videos, interactive stations and prize drawings)

WHERE: Pineville Elementary School gymnasium, 3800 WV-10, Pineville

Pineville and surrounding Wyoming county residents are encouraged to attend this free event. The first 25 attendees will receive a new Pineville logo t-shirt. Free refreshments and cake will be provided, and attendees will have the opportunity to win local gift cards and other prizes. 

The event will showcase interactive stations featuring 360-degree video with virtual reality headset, branded social media and new Pineville promotional products. Prize drawings and more will be available for all attendees. 

MEDIA: Pineville and BrandJRNY representatives will be available for media interviews before and after the brand launch remarks. They will share information about the community-branding process and how WVU faculty and students have been working with Pineville community members to create effective communication plans and creative materials for long-term brand management. Representatives will also touch on the potential economic, tourism and the educational effect of this project.

The initiative is funded by the American Electric Power Foundation.
