WVU to open Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters

WHAT: The Center for Veteran, Military and Family Programs at West Virginia University will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its “Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters.”  

The 2,500 square-foot facility will serve as a welcoming space and support center for student veterans, armed forces personnel and dependents of current and former military service members.  

The Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters will offer a variety of programs and services for veterans and military families focused on ensuring academic success, career development, promoting overall well-being and supporting their transition from military life into college life. 

Offerings will include:

• Dedicated tutoring and study areas;

• Veterans certification services, success coaching and on-site counseling; and

• A recreational area with video games, darts, snack/coffee bars and more.

West Virginia University hosts for the ribbon-cutting event will include:

WHEN : Friday, Dec. 7 – 11:30 a.m. (ribbon-cutting ceremony); noon until 2 p.m. (open house)

WHERE : Mountainlair Vandalia Lounge/Veteran and Military Family Support Headquarters (second floor), WVU Morgantown Campus
