This event will teach attendees about verification and fact checking, safety and security, data journalism and journalism ethics. 

Mike Reilley, a former LA Times reporter, is a visiting professor in data journalism and digital journalism at the University of Illinois – Chicago and consults with national media organizations on digital innovation. 

Samantha Sunne, a freelance reporter based in New Orleans, runs a journalism tech group called Hacks/Hackers and teaches journalists to utilize data and technology. 

The event is free, but registration is required. Register for election coverage training.
